"xkcd" by Randall Munroe

This is the place where pure, unadulterated nerdiness has found its ultimate outlet. A fairly simple comic drawn with stick figures by a former NASA contractor, xkcd deals with an odd combination of human relationships, mathematics, language, science fiction culture and other esoteric subjects. It's the sort of strip that will make math based jokes way over the heads of most readers and yet still make them funny, often tempering them in more down-to-earth subject matter (author Randell Munroe has a weakness for "your mama" jokes). The strip deals with Munroe's personal obsessions in a way that makes them recognizable and sympathetic, because deep down we all want to own a human-sized hamster ball, or some equally goofy equivalent. While often aiming for a specific audience with his jokes ("Ender's Game" fans, computer programmers, people frightened by velociraptors), his ability to make the jokes play to recognizable human attributes makes them accessible to a wider audience. Occasionally, he even manages to touch on universal feelings, and even be touchingly romantic.
