Singin' in the Bathtub

"Singin' in the Bathtub" by R. Crumb & the Cheap Suit Serenaders

Playing an eclectic mix of music that today is usually just called "old-timey," underground artist and sex pervert Robert Crumb reveled in his love for classic jazz, ragtime, blues and other bits of 1920s and 30s Americana with a series of albums during the 1970s. This is the highlight of his band's original trilogy, an album that has the liveliness of a group of friends jamming together while also possessing the technical virtuosity of a collection of devoted players. Highlights include the title track, the satirical Cajun romp "Shopping Mall," and the various jazzy instrumentals. Pure, sincere entertainment from beginning to end.
