Moving leaps ahead of their debut, this is where Brainiac's combination of electro-noise, punk thrash and gutter funk really came together into something interesting. Opening with the evocatively title "Hot Metal Dobermans," the album drives forward like a flaming bus full of Elvis imitators, a car wreck you can dance to. Though occasionally going over the avant-garde deep end into some pretty unlistenable territory, there's more than enough of interest (the crunch of "Radio Apeshot," the wonderfully demented "Sexual Frustration") to keep listeners engaged.
